WARNING: This is going to be a picture heavy post - don't say I didn't warn you!!!
I am still sick...but, with a weekend this nice, I couldn't just sit around and make my poor baby sit in the house! SO, I sucked it up and yesterday I packed her a lunch and we went to the playground. Dada was working, so I picked up grandma and we brought Jazmin (our chihuahua) and Noey to the playground.
As you can see in the photo below, bread is pretty much a waste in my house with Noelani. I read somewhere before that you should try presenting a food to a child around 10-15 times before really ruling it out. SO, I periodically make her sandwiches with bread. She ate a quarter of a slice and that was about it - at least she ate most of the bologna!!! You can also notice, the diva has on some Dora bracelets.
This is a new little playground they redid by my moms house and I have been meaning to take her here, so today seemed to be the perfect day. She started off on the bigger kids set, but after she realized it was a bit too big, we ventured over to the age appropriate set for her. It's really adorable and this little setup is specifically for kids ages 2-5. It's really cute with different climbers for their size. There's also a little section with a Train that she enjoyed. I thought the bongos were cute too!
We stayed there for about 45 minutes to an hour and she was really awesome when we went to leave. It's hard to predict lately how she will react. She gets very overly emotionally lately about certain things - so I anticipated a meltdown. I also anticipated a meltdown when we left gymnastics that am, but it didn't happen - maybe because Nana was there too! We went home and her and I crashed for a nap for a couple hours!
Today was Daddy's day off, and again I still don't feel awesome, but we wanted to do something as a family and it was BEAUTIFUL outside. We decided to take her to The Great Pumpkin Farm. She was so excited when I told her we could go pick out pumpkins. She wore her little pumpkin socks, so as soon as we went to Uncle Larry & Auntie Amandas house, she had to show them her socks....and when we got to the farm she was SO excited yelling "PUNKINSSSSS".
SO, here it goes...I'm usually so against things like the circus, riding a camel, and horses. But, she was so happy when she saw these little ponies. I still feel really bad about letting her do this. I think it's so sad these ponies have to walk in circles all day with little kids on their backs. Sigh. But, she is not old enough for me to explain this to her, and being that it was right in front of her face, I decided that we should just let her try it.
Because she is still so young, I walked with her to help her balance the whole time:
She was thrilled. The whole time, she said "weeeeeeeeee" and "neighhhhh":
I think we circled the little area 4 times, and she was just loving life up there the whole time:
Here she is after getting off of the pony:
Next, we went to see the farm animals. They had camels, sheep, goats, alpacas, and bunnies. I am totally turned off by slobbery farm animals. My sister insisted that Noelani needed to feed them, SO she of course bought Noelani food for them (gee thanks sis!). This animal thing seems to be a trend with my sister - she's been begging to get Noey a goldfish since she was home.... However, I must say, Noey is for sure my daughter. She was totally not feeling this activity. She kind of had this grossed out look on her face and kept holding her hands out like "ewwww slobber!!!" She was very happy once I pulled out the antibacterial hand wipes!
Noey and I ventured into the Hay Maze by ourselves. Daddy & Auntie & Uncle stayed outside while we ran through. This is the tunnel at the end. She was a little unsure of it until I told her it was just like the tunnel at gymnastics - then she ran right through!
As I said, it was a BEAUTIFUL day, but after being in that sun for a while, it definitely got a bit toasty and my little girl was THIRSTY! After the Hay Maze, she got to slide up and down tubes that looked similar to the ones above. Following that, she was climbing on this wooden train below:
Then it was time to finally pick out pumpkins. She couldn't decide WHAT to pick out! She was so excited she kept going from one to another....my sister decided to just sit her in the bins of pumpkins haha!
She wanted to take them ALL home, and began emptying the bin out. I stopped her once she was headed for the 5th one!! Here she is beginning to put them away. We made sure we counted that there were 4 of them first. I always try to teach her something educational while we are out doing things. We are constantly counting, singing our abc's and asking her questions to make her "think". I have been working with her this weekend to learn to say "2" when I ask her how old she is. I can't even believe i'm teaching my BABY that! It's only a couple months away.
Of course we had to finish the day off with a snack! Noey got of course a.....pumpkin cookie - what else!!! She loved every single crumb.
Before we left to go home, she needed her diaper changed (I am PRAYING we are potty trained by next spring/summer) - and used the trunk of Aunties car. It was way too sunny for her, so Auntie let her borrow these Diva sunglasses while she was laying there. My silly little girl - I will never forget these days.
Even though Mama was sick, it was a perfect weekend!!!! I love my life with my baby girl xoxoxo
